One of the AFL’s great moments – the opening bounce of the grand final – will be a casualty of change should the league decide to ban umpires from bouncing the ball.

Saturday’s grand final between Richmond and Adelaide could be the last time umpires bounce the ball to begin a game or resume play after a goal or around the ground.
