One of the first player to umpire pathway participants, Henry (known as Harry) Gordon Rowe passed away this week aged 89.
Harry played 2 matches for Melbourne in 1945 and ’46.  He went onto the VFLRG in 1948 and onto the senior list between 1949 – 1962.
Harry umpired 16 senior VFL matches between 1951 and 1955.  Harry umpired 27 VFL second 18 games and 268 VCFL games, including 17 grand finals.   He became a life member in 1959.
Harry was a regular at functions until a few years ago but always had umpiring close to his heart
The funeral will be held at Le Pine Chapel 981 Burke Rd Camberwell on Monday April 7 at 10am.
