With 23 Rounds of the AFL Season 2022 completed, here is a summary of the landmark umpiring milestones so far from this season.

Congratulations to Victorian field umpire Jordyn Pearson, who made her VFL debut this month in Round 7 (Essendon v Box Hill Hawks) at Windy Hill. After Annie Mirabile and Eleni Glouftsis, Jordyn is now the third female field umpire to have officiated in a VFL match.

Congratulations to goal umpire Jason Yazdani, who joins the list of debutants in the ongoing 2022 AFL season.

Welcome to field umpire Matthew Young, who has joined the AFL Rookie Umpires’ List for 2022.

Over the years in his umpiring career, field umpire Nic McGinness has learnt to build flexibility into his preparations, to accommodate for the unexpected circumstances that could lead up to a matchday. This mindset came in handy, as Nic made his AFL debut in Round 8 of the 2022 season.
