Congratulations to umpires Tom Bryce (Field), Martin Elsegood (Boundary) and Braden Ford (Goal), who were recently presented with their honours at the 2022 SANFL Golden Whistle Awards function.

Tom was adjudged the Golden Whistle awardee. He commenced umpiring with the Glenelg/West Adelaide SASFA Panel (2011), and made his AFL debut in 2021 (Round 11, Port Adelaide v Fremantle at Adelaide Oval). Tom was awarded AFLUA Heritage Number 451.

His maiden AFLW match was in Round 1, 2017 (Adelaide v GWS at the Thebarton Oval, SA). He has 22 career AFLW games so far, including the 2017 AFLW Grand Final.

Besides his AFL/AFLW exploits, Tom has 94 SANFL League games and three SANFL Grand Finals to his name.

Current 2022 AFLW Season 7 Boundary Umpire Martin received the SANFL Silver Whistle Award. Martin counts 12 AFLW career matches to his record, and has officiated in three SANFL Grand Finals and 161 League matches.

Braden, who has waved the flags in the goal in 107 SANFL matches, including the 2022 Grand Final, was the recipient of the SANFL Goal Umpire plaque.
