Congratulations to field umpire Matt Stevic (AFLUA Heritage Number 397), who will preside in his 450th AFL match over the weekend (Sydney v Collingwood, 17 September 2022, Sydney Cricket Ground).
Matt commenced umpiring with the West Gippsland Umpires Association in 1991, and made his AFL debut in 2004.
He has shown amazing consistency over the years, leading to two Umpire of the Year (Bishop Shield) awards in 2015 and 2017, and eight All-Australian Field Umpire honours (2012, 2014-2018, 2020 and 2021).
Matt has also officiated in nine AFL Grand Finals (2012 and 2014-2021).
