Darren’s resilience is remarkable. He is rarely injured and always available for selection. He has umpired fifteen games this season in three different states. Darren commenced his AFL career in 1992 and is still is running as strongly twenty-one years later at the elite level. His benchmark time for 5km at the start of this season was 14 minutes 51 seconds which puts him clearly in front of all comers on the AFL list.
