Congratulations to goal umpire Daniel Wilson who has announced his retirement and will officiate his final game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Daniel began his AFL career back in 2004 and debuted in round 6 when he umpired the Melbourne v Carlton game at the MCG.  He has since umpired 276 AFL games including 8 finals.

Daniel has umpired the 12th most VFL/AFL games in the history of the game.  He has been an AFLUA member from 2004-2021 and became an AFLUA life member in 2013.

Joining Daniel in the goals on Sunday for the Essendon v Collingwood game is Steve Piperno with Chelsea Roffey on the bench.

Have a great final game Daniel and we look forward to celebrating with you in due course.
