Creasey applauded for great milestone

Jonathan Creasey is committed to leaving a great legacy for boundary umpires in South Australia and indeed across Australia.  Jonathan was presented with his 250 match certificate at a dinner last week where all of the SA listed AFL umpires got together to celebrate the start of the 2014 season.  Jonathan achieved this great milestone in the Fremantle v Sydney preliminary final in 2013.

Doig and Zanich receive achievement awards

Nathan Doig was extremely proud to receive his 2013 awards as the best boundary umpire in the AFL and his action photo from the grand final.  When asked to reflect on those achievements he said with great respect and humility, “They are nice to receive but that time has gone, I am now only focusing on 2014 and what I can control.”

WA troops ready for the season proper

While our three listed field umpires in WA have only umpired six quarters of footy during the pre-season they are primed and ready to go. Veteran, Dean Margetts, who is getting ready for his 12th season of AFL football said the pre-season had been tough, especially given the significant heat wave that has enveloped the state since Christmas.
