Ninety-seven years young and still attending functions with stories and anecdotes of years gone by was our esteemed life member, Vic Henderson.  Vic passed away last Friday.

Vic began umpiring in 1948 on the VFL Reserve Grade as a boundary umpire.  Between 1952-54 he became a field umpire on the Reserve grade panel and was promoted to the VFL senior list in 1955.  He umpired 204 VCFL matches including 5 finals until his retirement in 1966.  He was made a life member in 1965. 

Vic went on to join the Southern Umpires in 1967 (field) and to the West Gippsland FL between 1969-82 as a goal umpire.

Vic’s funeral will be held this Friday August 14 at the W D Rose Chapel 139 Marriage Rd Brighton commencing at 2.30pm.
