Goal umpire, Chris Appleton, notched up his 150th AFL appearance in Darwin on Saturday night. Chris, a stalwart of the goal umpiring brigade has umpired in some out of the way places this year, including Darwin and Wellington in New Zealand on Anzac Day.
Chris commenced his career with the Eastern Football League and went on to umpire the 2001 VFL Grand Final before being promoted to the AFL in 2002. Chris has officiated in nine AFL finals matches, including the 2012 preliminary final.
