Ex AFL Field Umpire Shane McInerney (heritage no. 353) has been inducted into the Ballarat Sports Hall of Fame.
McInerney, who was raised and schooled in Ballarat, umpired 502 AFL games from 1994-2019. His 26 year career included the 2004 and 2007 Grand Finals, 4 ANZAC Day clashes as well as two International Rules games.
Just this year, McInerney was inducted into the AFLUA’s Umpiring Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding on-field achievements in umpiring.
