After much deliberation, the AFL has released its Umpire List for the 2024 season.

The four departing umpires; Luke Edwards, Chris Gordon, Drew Kowalski and Mitch Le Fevre will leave with a combined 1,029 games of experience, each carried out with the tireless, workmanlike attitude and efficiency expected from those in one of the hardest jobs in sport.

We thank them for their service to umpiring at all levels of the game, from community football to AFL Grand Finals. Without their contributions to football, we wouldn’t have the privilege of watching and participating in the game that we love.

Additionally, after seven seasons Eleni Tee will step back in 2024 to take 12 months of maternity leave. We wish her all the best.

The AFLUA would like to congratulate the following umpires on their promotion to the AFL Umpire List for the 2024 season:

Field:               Nicholas Jankovskis (Victoria)

Boundary:       Blake Anderson (Victoria), Luke Graves (Western Australia), and Will Morris (Queensland)

Goal:               Bryce Guy (Tasmania)

These umpires will now have their own opportunity to carve out a career in umpiring at the highest level, supported by the AFLUA, their accomplished peers, and the AFL Umpiring department.

Congratulations again to Nicholas, Blake, Luke, Will and Bryce on their outstanding achievement. We look forward to seeing them take the field in 2024.

Stay tuned for individual Umpire profiles to be published over the coming weeks.
