Simon Meredith certainly had a milestone game to remember, Adelaide v Fremantle at AAMI Park in his 200th AFL match went down to the wire. Simon had to call on all of his experience to work through a tense score review in the dying minutes of the game when Adelaide were pressing to regain the lead.
Simon began his umpiring career with the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League before heading to the VFL and umpiring the 2003 senior grand final. Simon’s AFL career statistics include 10 finals and the 2012 AFL Grand Final. Simon goes about his umpiring in a very unobtrusive manner but always brings great composure to the most intense moments of the game, a great attribute to have in modern football.
