And then there were nine.

The AFL announced their grand final umpires at a press conference this morning.  The panel boasts great experience with only one umpire making his debut.

Field umpire Jeff Dalgleish has been selected for his first grand final after a very good finals campaign.  Jeff has umpired 118 games including 4 finals.  Jeff teams with Brett Rosebury, (7 grand finals) and Matt Stevic (3 grand finals)

On the boundary, Ian Burrows is umpiring his 6th grand final, Nathan Doig (4 grand finals), Chris Gordon and Matthew Tomkins (2 grand finals)

In the goals Chris Appleton makes it back to back umpiring his 2nd grand final as is his partner Adam Wojcik.

The emergency umpires are Ray Chamberlain (field, 2 grand finals), Michael Marantelli (boundary, 1 grand final) and Luke Walker (goal, 6 grand finals)
