Congratulations to AFL Boundary Umpire Darren Wilson on achieving his life-time dream of winning the prestigious Empire State building stairs race, completing the run up 1,576 steps to the 86th floor in 10 minutes 36 seconds.

Darren, who is the AFL’s longest-serving boundary umpire, has officiated in 392 games including 48 finals and 12 consecutive grand finals.

The Empire State Building Run-up is one of the most well-known tower climbs in the world and money raised through entry fees is used to help people with physical disabilities.

The AFLUA congratulates Darren on this outstanding personal achievement.
