The AFLUA is currently conducting further visits to interstate locations, as part of the association’s communication and engagement strategy.

The aim of the visits is to have a presence in those cities where our interstate members reside, catch up with umpires who wish to meet and discuss local issues that are part of their AFL umpiring environment. Peter Howe and Peter Kelly recently flew to Sydney where they met a number of the Sydney-based AFL umpires and attended training at North Sydney on Thursday night.

“Each state has a unique umpiring set-up for AFL umpires, so it is important that the we understand and respect the structure and arrangements in place,” said Peter Kelly. “Also to have a visible presence is important to our interstate members as we continue to build relationships and engage further with our members.”

The AFLUA will visit our Perth colleagues later this week.
